One of the most important numbers you’ll have to deal with is the one called ISBN, or the International Standard Book Number.
We’ll discuss the significance and purpose of ISBN in this segment, as well asĀ how to go about getting yours for your book.

John, you mentioned you had a bulk of bar codes will you allow those of us in this class buy one from you. thank you, bonnie
Sorry this took so long, Bonnie. Somehow I missed it. I do not sell any of the ISBN’s because they are used for books that I write or published. However, if you really, really need one, let me know and I’ll see what I can do. Write me at my email address at: john@insight2000.com
Glad that you’re in the class, Bonnie. Have a wonderful New Year.
Always,
John
This was really helpful and not boring at all, thank you! You and Anita are already making my life simpler!
You mentioned that there may be a resource to get the bar codes for free. Will you address that in a later class, or could you provide a link to that resource? This may be a naiive question, but when you get your ISBN, does the bar code not come with that automatically?
Hi Nicola:
I missed this entire page. So sorry. I probably need a vacation in Jamaica
I trust all is well and that you are enjoying the holidays. Concerning barcodes, there is a free barcode generator at:
http://www.terryburton.co.uk/barcodewriter/generator/
And no, when you get your ISBN, it doesn’t come with the barcode. First, get the ISBN. Then go to the barcode generator and enter your ISBN. It will produce the full barcode with the ISBN embedded.
Have a great New Year.
John
